Role-Playing Cards - Pediatrician – Dutch

Role-Playing Cards - Pediatrician – Dutch allow students to practice situations related to their child's health. They learn how to call a general practitioner to make an appointment and seek help with specific complaints. For example, they may visit the doctor's office with their child and ask questions about a condition. Their child might have measles, but they do not know exactly what measles is. They will need to ask the pediatrician questions to get more information.

Students also learn how to express their concerns if their child has a stomach ache and they do not know what to do. They practice asking many questions to the pediatrician to fully understand what steps they need to take. This helps them communicate in a calm and informative manner.

The role-plays include challenging and funny situations, enabling students to learn to respond flexibly. For instance, their child needs a shot due to high fever, but both parent and child are panicked about needles. They must consult with the pediatrician on how to address this problem.

There could also be a scenario where their child has an allergic reaction to the prescribed medication. The parent feels angry and frustrated and wants to discuss this with the pediatrician. These situations help students provide respectful feedback, ask questions, and seek solutions in stressful or emotional situations.

Through these role-plays, they learn to communicate clearly and calmly with the pediatrician, even when their concerns are significant. This gives them confidence in dealing with their child’s medical situations.
