Role-Playing Cards - Hospital 1 – Dutch

Role-Playing Cards - Hospital 1 – Dutch help students practice situations surrounding making a hospital appointment and navigating within the building. They learn how to make an appointment over the phone, practicing confirming the time and location. Additionally, they ask at the hospital reception for directions to various outpatient clinics and practical matters, such as where the elevator or waiting areas are located.

Students learn how to ask for help if they cannot find their way, for example, by clearly stating the floor and name of the department. They also practice asking additional questions, such as whether there is an elevator or how to take the quickest route to their destination. This helps them develop their skills to ask for help in a focused and friendly manner.

Comedic situations are also included to prepare them for unexpected moments. For instance, a student might find themselves on the wrong floor and completely lost, leading to hilarious confusion. In another scenario, the student arrives for an appointment, only to find that there has been a scheduling error, causing the appointment to be canceled. This can be especially frustrating if they have traveled by public transport because their car is broken.

These scenarios give students the chance to politely express their dissatisfaction at the reception and ask for a solution. They practice providing feedback in a calm, respectful manner, even when the situation is disappointing. Through these role-plays, they learn how to remain clear and patient, even when misunderstandings arise, and feel more confident during their next hospital visit.
