Role-Playing Cards - Music and Dance – Dutch

Role-Playing Cards - Music and Dance – Dutch are ideal for practicing conversations about different music styles and forms of dance. Participants learn to ask questions about contemporary and classical singers, as well as popular dance styles such as salsa, tango, and the English waltz.

In one scenario, a participant might inquire at a dance school: “What dance classes do you offer?” or “Do you have beginner tango classes?” This helps them practice asking questions about various dances and levels.

Local, traditional dances are also covered. A participant might ask: “What typical dances do you have in this region?” or “Are there classes for folk dancing?” This teaches them how to inquire about cultural dance information.

There are also comedic and challenging scenarios. For instance, someone arrives at the dance class wearing clogs because they thought it was a folk dance lesson, only to find out it’s a tango class. The participant must explain: “I thought we were going to do a folk dance!”

Another funny scenario could be someone who has booked classes but, upon arrival, discovers that it’s for wheelchair dancing. The participant responds in surprise: “But I don’t have a wheelchair!”

Sometimes, a participant may show up without a dance partner, thinking the classes are solo, leading to a surprise: “I thought I was dancing alone, but I need a partner!” This allows for creative interactions.

These role-plays help participants practice conversations about music, dance, and unexpected situations in dance classes in a playful manner.
