Wat is VocaKit® – Huis – Duits?

VocaKit® – House – German is an interactive learning pack with 20 picture cards and 20 bingo cards, designed to expand vocabulary around the theme of “House” in a playful way. Students gain vocabulary related to home and interior while improving their language skills through engaging activities.

Objectives

VocaKit® aims to help students effectively and enjoyably learn the language:

• Vocabulary expansion:Learn words related to the house and furnishings.
• Forming sentences:Practice sentence structures around the house theme.
• Stimulating speaking:Encourage communication in a playful setting.
• Improving listening and speaking:Through creative challenges and assignments.

Why use images?

Images make learning tangible and engaging:

• Help students remember and recognize words faster.
• Great for observation and game-based learning.
• Ideal for group activities with full participation.

How does VocaKit® work?

1. Learning and reviewing words::
   Show an image of a room or object, say the word, let students repeat it, then show the written form.
2. Forming sentences::
   Use cards to make sentences like “The lamp is on the table” or “I live in an apartment.”
3. Playing bingo::
   Speel verschillende varianten van bingo om de woordenschat te versterken:
   • Image – Image:: Laat een afbeelding zien en noem de naam. Cursisten zoeken de afbeelding op hun kaart.
   • Word – Image:: Toon het geschreven woord en lees het voor. Cursisten zoeken de bijbehorende afbeelding.
   • Image – Word:: Laat een afbeelding zien en spreek de naam uit. Cursisten zoeken het geschreven woord.
   • Word – Word:: Laat een geschreven woord zien en laat cursisten het overeenkomende woord vinden.

Game Examples

• What’s true?:
  One student says, “I have a chair.” Others guess if it’s true. If so, the speaker wins the card.
• What belongs where?:
  One student picks a card and describes where it is, like “The couch is in the living room.”
• I see in my house…:
  One student starts with, “I see a closet.” The next adds: “...a closet and a mirror,” and so on.
• Where am I in the house?:
  Tape a card to students’ backs. They ask: “Am I in the kitchen?” or “Am I a piece of furniture?”

With VocaKit®, learners learn the topic of ‘House’ in a playful and visual way. This approach increases their confidence in speaking and makes learning not only effective, but also fun!
