Role-Playing Cards - Police – English provide participants with the opportunity to practice situations where they need the police. They learn how to call to report a theft, for example, of their phone. They also practice giving details after an accident, explaining exactly what happened and describing the damage.
Participants can reenact situations in which they call the police because they see someone running away and suspect that person of stealing something. In these scenarios, they learn to pass on information and ask questions, such as how long it will take for the police to arrive.
Comedic situations make the role-plays more challenging. For instance, the police may arrive after a report of a theft, only to find that it’s someone in a hurry to pick up their child from school. Or someone wants to file a report but accidentally has their partner's identification documents, making it impossible to file the report on the last day it can be done.
Additionally, it can happen that the police arrive at the wrong address after a call about an accident. In these situations, participants practice how to respond calmly and communicate clearly with the police. The role-plays help them manage misunderstandings and issues in a clear and effective manner.
